Smoke & Vape Management Policy
Purpose
Eildon Park Tennis Club (EPTC) is committed to providing a safe, healthy and welcoming environment for our community. This policy sets out how smoking and vaping are managed at EPTC facilities, games, training, events, functions and other club-related activities. It supports our duty of care, reduces exposure to second-hand aerosol/smoke, protects children and young people, and upholds the reputation of EPTC and its partners.
Scope and Definitions
This policy applies to all EPTC members and visitors.
Smoking includes the use of any tobacco product, herbal cigarette or similar device.
Vaping, including e-cigarettes, means using any device that heats a liquid to produce an aerosol (with or without nicotine). For the purposes of this policy, vaping and e-cigarettes are referred to as vape or vaping.
The EPTC venue includes all indoor areas, verandas, outdoor courts, surrounds, spectator areas, paths, car parks, kitchen/bar, BBQ areas and any area hired or controlled by EPTC for an event.
Principles
EPTC complies with all applicable Victorian laws and local requirements about smoke-free and vape-free areas.
We prioritise children’s health and positive role-modelling.
We support people who are trying to quit and will promote support resources.
Our minimum standard is the law; EPTC may set stricter venue-wide rules where appropriate.
