Our Head Coach, Costa Skopelitis has 30 years coaching experience. He is a registered Professional Tennis Coach with SATA. He was the Owner and Head Coach of Star Tennis Academy in Durban, South Africa (1994 – 2017) and Head Coach at Brookfield Tennis Centre (2017-2021).

Costa’s qualifications include:

• Girls KZN squad coach (2001-2006) and Boys Elite KZN Squad coach (2008-2009)
• National coach for junior overseas squads to Europe and USA (1994 – 1995)
• Coached many SA’s top juniors most of whom went on to attend college scholarships in USA
• Coached SA’s ATP players to prepare for Grand Slams, some of which include: Kevin Ullyett (no.4 ranked ATP World Doubles player and US Open and Australian Open Doubles Champion), Myles Wakefield (top 50 ATP doubles pro), Chris Haggard (top 20 ATP Doubles Pro), Damien Roberts (ATP singles and Doubles Pro)
• Personal coach of Jeff Coetzee on the ATP Tour (1997-2000). Jeff was a SA Davis Cup player and ranked top 12 ATP world doubles player. 2 x Australian Open doubles semi finalist and Quarter finalist at US Open.
• National coach for South Africa’s MTN Super Squad (ATP TOUR) including Wimbledon Junior Singles Champion Wesley Whitehouse, and Damien Roberts, Louis Vosloo and Justin Bower (1998 – 1999). Touring coach on ATP TOUR in USA, Europe, South America, Africa, Asia and Australia.

As well as the above he has coached players competing at the Australian Open, US Open, French Open and Wimbledon.
