With the easing of the Covid-19 restrictions in the ACT, Belconnen Tennis Club has conditionally reopened to members and guests play. Court reservations can be made via the Book A Court online system
Singles and doubles play are permitted and small coaching groups. We are also reintroducing moderated social tennis.
Covid19 kills vulnerable people and makes other people very ill. There is no wonder drug or vaccine to prevent. The only control is by minimising the risk of spreading the virus. The ACT remains under an Health Emergency Declaration
The club has a duty of care and social responsibility to contribute to containing the spread of the virus.
Tennis (and golf, boot camps, walking, cycling etc ) have been deemed socially isolating enough to allow people to undertake this activity, with the benefits for physical and mental health outweighing the risks of spreading the virus. Many of our members and certainly most people will have family and friends in the vulnerable group.
Your committee is very pleased to open up the courts for play albeit under conditions as recommended by ACT Dept of Health directives and the peak Tennis body. All players are required to abide by the conditions of play.
Tennis ACT have up to date information on their website.
Please read the guidelines and restrictions for placing tennis in the ACT. By making a booking to play on our courts you are deemed to hav read and understood your obligations and agreement to abide.
In particular you are required to agree to the requirements listed in the :
