Monday Evening Pickleball Competition

Michael Buckler and Ellen McGirr will be organising an enjoyable pickleball competitive session starting on Monday nights (warm up from 6:00 pm, then 6:30 – 8:45 pm. Sessions begin on February 3rd. This competition is for players who have started to develop their pickleball skills, that is, players who are moving towards intermediate level or better. The competition is not for beginners. Players must be club members

Cost will be $7 per evening

All players are ranked in skills levels 1 to 4 by experienced organisers and teams comprise of players with those four rankings. If a player is consistently winning matches, their ranking may be advanced. 

How the competition is run: Doubles play; Team A 1 and 2 vs Team B 1 and 2; Team C 3 and 4 vs Tead D 3 and 4 etc.

There is a list of Reserve players to take the place of absentees.

Tuesday Pickleball - Intermediate Doubles Competition

The competition is on Tuesday evenings, 6:00 to 8:00 pm and is run by Maureen Coulter. This will be a Round Robin mixed competition for players of an intermediate standard (equivalent of PAA ratings 3.0 to 3.5). Players must be club members. Cost will be $7 per evening.

Mixed double events are organised each night. Players are assigned partners using a variety of random methods. If consistently losing matches, players may be dropped from competition if the deamnd for places is high. There are opportunities to try for the Advanced level competition.

To participate, contact Maureen ans ask to be added to the WhatsApp group for last minute changes, other logistics.

The competition starts on Tuesday, 4th February.

Wednesday Evening Pickleball - Social Doubles

Olivia Rich, our club coach, is organising a fun pickleball doubles social evening, 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Players must be members of the club. The cost is $7 per evening

Social doubles matches organised each night. All levels welcome as long as advanced players are considerate of playing with lower levels.  Provision is made to integrate beginners.

Partners are chosen by various random methods to enable a mix of partners and levels.  Games are played over 12 minutes before changing partners.

Thursday Evening - Advanced Doubles Competition

The Thursday night doubles pickleball competition for ADVANCED level players is extremely popular. The competition will be run by Rachel Earley and Aiden Rigby. This competition will be suitable for players with an ADVANCED level of skill, competing at a 3.5 - 3.99+ level. Players are assigned a number on arrival and play 12 minute games based on a random draw. Competition sessions run for a school term with a break for school holidays.

Players must be members of the AT&PC and cost is $7 per evening (card payment).

 The first night of competition will be Thursday 6th February. Warm-up/collection of fees will be from 6pm onwards. The round robin will begin promptly at 6:30 pm and finishes about 8:45 pm.

Please be aware that the draw for Term 1 beginning February 6th is full.

Friday Morning - Open Social Pickleball Group

There is an open, social pickleball group on Friday mornings at the Alstonville village pickleball courts.  In summer, start time is 7:30 am to finish at 9:30 am. As winter approaches, start will be 8:00 am to finish at 10:00 am.

All levels are welcome - learners to experienced players.  AT&PC members @ $5 per session;  non-members @ $10.

Social doubles matches are organised each session. Partners are chosen by random method to enable a mix of partners and skill level. Games are played over 12 minutes before changing partners. Provision is made for beginners.

After the game, players often adjourn to a local coffee shop for some social banter.
