There has been a hive of activity on and off the court for many of our members of late - so we thought it is only fair to share!!

It all started recently with the Rally4Ever Team

Rally4Ever Team celebrate Halloween

Mark, Nan and Carolyn got into the Halloween spirit with the Rally4Ever team, incorporating Halloween apparel (look hard enough and you will see it :) ). The team as per usual combined social interaction, tennis and a sprinkle of Halloween joy!

Rally 4Ever - Workplace community participation program

Jo Herron - WSLTA Director, then as part of her workplace community participation program volunteered to assist our coach Mark with a Rally4Ever Tuesday session. By all accounts Jo had a fabulous time and appreciated the rewarding aspect of the Rally4Ever program and the opportunities it provides our participants to socialise and be active out in the sun.

Melbourne Cup Day Celebrations!

We then moved to a rather glamorous event - well the dress code certainly was!

Carolyn Walker - WSLTA Secretary pictured below with Caroline Stott, Lucille McKenna OAM and Claire Burgess attended the Melbourne Cup event held at  Wests Ashfield Leagues . It was a well enjoyed afternoon session of social interactions with long time friends and new. What a great excuse to catchup with friends, former colleagues and even watch a race or two.

Mark Hughes Foundation  - Archie Gray Brain Cancer Awareness Celebrity Charity Cricket Match

Finally, it was a pleasure to attend the Archie Gray Brain Cancer Awareness Celebrity Charity Cricket Match, as part of the Mark Hughes foundation at Pratten Park to raise awareness for brain cancer and to celebrate Archie Gray's life and tragic passing. Archie was just 17 years of age and lost his eleven and half months battle with cancer.

The event was a T20 celebrity cricket match which included a mix of current players across both Western Suburbs and Manly Cricket Clubs and sprinkled a fair few celebrities to celebrate Archie's passion for cricket and raise awareness of brain cancer through the Mark Hughes foundation.

Tony Azzam - WSLTA President, Carolyn Walker WSLTA Secretary along with Francis Le and Ben Costello from Western Suburbs Lawn Tennis were proud to support this important event.
