Viewbank Tennis Club Update

Dear Members,

We hope you and your families are well. We just wanted to touch base with an update on what's happening around the club.

LED lights
Last year, the club was successful in obtaining council funding to help with upgrading all of our lights to LED. We have been in talks over the last few days, and contractors are able to start the work on court 7 this Thursday, 5 May 2022. As a result, court 7 won't be available for 10 days or so. All competition representatives and coaches will make alternate plans as needed. Court 8 will follow, then courts 1,2,4,5 and 6 will be done next financial year.

Working Bee
Sunday 15 May 2022 from 10am to 1pm.  If you are able to volunteer your time, please email Sylvia at secretary@viewbanktc.com.au.  A list of jobs will be made available closer to the date.  There will be a thank you BBQ at the end.  For catering purposes please advise if you can attend.

Ladies twilight
Our ladies twilight held on Monday nights has been a bit success! We had consistently over 15/20 ladies each week, and for a lot of the weeks all 8 courts at full capacity with over 30 ladies attending. We have started twilight again for those ladies interested in coming down for a hit on Monday nights. Our sessions started again on 2 May 2022. If you are interested, please register week to week below: https://play.tennis.com.au/viewbanktennisclub/BookClass/1c6402e2-33aa-4e67-827b-90560d8df68c

Grants and funding
We have had some good success in obtaining grants over the past month.
- $8,000 from Kate Thwaites for funding a new defibrillator outside the clubhouse, new internal fences near court 2 and court 6/7, and also replacing our bins around the grounds.
- $2,000 for going towards a club strategy day.
We have other grant applications submitted too, and await the results of these.

If anyone has feedback or any questions for the club, please contact info@viewbanktc.com.au

Thanks and regards,
