Member Update May 2024

The Lights are On!

We launched the LED lights on Wednesday night, and it was a terrific celebration.  The little old (Heritage Listed!) Clubhouse looked like something from a film set!  All thanks to Treasurer Grant Cameron for his leadership on the project.

While winter is coming we do hope to see a revival of night tennis at VPTC.  We already have our Comp team and a social tennis group alternating on the Tuesday night – either of which you are welcome to join.  Ideally we would grow these groups across the week in the same way we have for morning tennis. But we also want to allow for members who want to play outside of a group setting.  It means that for now, while you can just turn up and hope to find a court free, it may pay to use our ‘reserve a court’ system on the Club web page.

Members are reminded that there is a $12 per hour charge for use of the lights. Payment instructions are available in the Clubhouse next to the light switches.
Also, Members are encouraged to invite friends to come and play but please ensure the $5 Visitor fee is paid as well.

Please support our Over 55s event
Find attached a flyer for our ‘Come and Try’ event for Over 55s.  VPTC has a strong offering in this area and we think there are a lot of older people in our community who could benefit from getting back into \ or starting up tennis, especially as they approach retirement.  Please view the flyer and share it with any relative or friend who you think might be interested.
