Tournaments

National Indigenous Tennis Carnival 2025  

The 2025 National Indigenous Tennis Carnival will be happening in Darwin from Wednesday 6th of August – Saturday 9th of August. This event brings first nations kids together through tennis and cultural connection. We are accepting nominations for our NT ‘Green Ball’ team – so if you know any child at your club who is 12 years and older, and plays at a green/yellow ball level please nominate them by emailing @Benjamin Cunningham by Wednesday 2nd of July.  

Australian Tennis Championships 2025  

NT recently represented at the Australian Tennis Championships in Gold Coast in the following age groups:  

  • Under 11s Boys and Girls  

  • Under 13s Boys and Girls  

  • Under 15s Girls  

This was a great opportunity for those selected to learn what it takes to compete with the best in their age groups across Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Oceania. All appreciation goes to our NT coaches and staff, including Martin Rocca, Grace Henderson, Ben McLachlan and Alex Capill. Without them, young NT tennis players would not be involved in such opportunities.

Tennis NT AGM & Awards Night – SAVE THE DATE 18th October 2025 

The date to save for Tennis NT’s annual AGM and Awards Night is Saturday 18th October 2025. Some are aware that this date has changed, which we needed to accommodate due to tournament clashes. An official Notice of AGM will be sent closer to the date but please take this date as confirmed.

Integrity  

How are you recording Ochre Cards?  

We are all responsible for ensuring our sport is safe and welcoming. It is critical that you are keeping an active record of your working with children’s check. If you are currently keeping a record of your ochre cards, please let Ben know. If you aren’t sure how to keep a record of your ochre cards, please also let Ben know. 

Educational Signage  

  • Tennis Australia has provided us some excellent educational signage promoting good behaviour around the club, please see the attached files and contact Ben if you would like these printed for your club.  

 

Tennis NT Professional Tournament Volunteering Opportunities  

The Tennis NT ‘Pro Tour Swing’ will take place between Monday 29th of September – Sunday 12th of October. For anyone looking for opportunities to be involved in any capacity, please email tennisnt@tennis.com.au 

 

Clubspark 

The Clubspark booking module upgrade is officially complete! If you would like to learn more about the updates, and how they will benefit your clubs booking module the next training session is Thursday 3rd of July from 3:00-4:00pm NT time. Click here to join the training.

Coaching 

A trainee level coaching course ran across the first weekend of June. 

If you missed out on this course, email us at tennisnt@tennis.com.au we will plan another one in dry season.  

In the meantime, if you are hungry to upskill you can also complete the ‘Participation Online Course’.

  1. Create a new Bounce account on the login page 
  2. Confirm your account via the confirmation email link 
  3. Complete the signup form and select "Participation Coach" option as learner type  
  4. Login and access the course 

 

Equipment 

Please see the attached equipment order form if you ever need equipment: Clubs and Coaches Equipment Order Form  

Tennis Australia are continuing to add to this order form, and through feedback will be adding mini nets and net frames as individual items. Coaches will be able to receive this form at the end of June in the coach's world newsletter, and we will also communicate this.  

 

All in Clubs Call  

We will be holding an all-in clubs call on either of the following dates to help stay connected with one another as we go into the second half of the year. The two options for the meeting are below: 

  • Tuesday 8th of July 7:30-8:30pm  

  • Tuesday 15th of July 7:30-8:30pm 

If you could please let us know as soon as possible if you had a preference, it would be appreciated. If we don’t hear from you, we will assume you are okay with either date. If you would be on court at either of these times, happy to chat separately too. We will finalise the date and send invites this coming week.
