Tennis NT Staff Update

  • We welcomed our new Marketing & Inclusion Manager to the team in June - Emily Carroll. Please welcome Emily to the Tennis NT family when you get the chance to meet her.
  • Emily Ooms-Webb is now on maternity leave until 2025, Grace Henderson will be filling her role during this time. Please reach out to Grace for anything you need during Emily's leave.

Club Visits / HIT Survey Completion

Club Visits

  • Ben will be reaching out to all clubs over the next few weeks to schedule a visit to the club in the next 2-3 months - likely these will occur during late August for Darwin clubs, Palmerston and Katherine, and then following Pro Tour in October for Alice Springs and Gove. Please work with Ben to confirm your club visits as soon as you can!
  • The primary purpose of the visit is to complete each club's 2024/25 HIT survey - this is a vital part of preparing the club to be grant ready, both for TA's National Court Rebate and NTG Community Benefit Fund grants.
  • We will also book in any time you need to chat about any other current issues, challenges, planning or projects in your pipeline Tennis NT can assist with.
  • We are working to put some processes in place to establish regluar call cycles and club visits moving forward.

HIT Survey

  • We hope to make the HIT survey process as easy as possible and provide you with value in terms of the data it generates - timely sharing of the data and reports and a follow up call and/or visit are part of our process for this.
  • We will pre-fill your surveys based on last years results, and send you a copy of the questions before our visit so you can read through and have information on hand that needs updating.

Integrity

  • Tennis Australia has provided us some excellent educational signage promoting good behaviour around the club, please see the attached files and contact Peta if you would like these printed for your club. Tennis NT will print 2 signs per club.
  • View the signs here

Complementary Formats

Pickleball

  • Equipment oder - nets have arrived at Tennis NT, we are still waiting on paddles. Please contact Peta if you'd like to collect your net now, otherwise we will be in contact as soon as the paddles arrive to distribute your full kits. UPDATE - TA have advised an ETA of late September for the pickleball paddles. This will be to HQ, then add another couple of weeks to get to NT. Apologies for the delay on this!
  • Tennis NT manages a Facebook group promoting the pickleball sessions at clubs in the NT (Top End - Alice Springs has their own association and Facebook group). Your club sessions have been added to this page, please let Peta know of any updates or changes. We will direct any enquiries to clubs that come through this page - Pickleball - Darwin
  • Oz Pickleball have offered discounts on equipment when we purchase in bulk - please contact Peta for more information and to place an order.
  • There is some interest from the Darwin players at Gardens and DITC to start playing competition - are any other clubs at this stage yet?

Pickleball and POP Tennis Coaching Courses

  • Tennis Australia are launching introductory Pickleball and POP coaching courses - these will be offered to all TA registered coaches and affiliates. Please contact Peta for further information, we will look to schedule face to face sessions later in the year and need to know preferred dates based on everyone's schedules.
