What a great National Indigenous Tennis Carnival for the Alice Springs team. The 2nd annual National Indigenous Tennis Carnival was an even bigger success than last year. Alice Springs took eighteen Athletes this year.

The highlights over the weekend were the Red Ball team coming in a close 2nd to a very strong QLD team. While Keely Bishop made the Semi-finals of the 18/u singles event, Jacoba Hatton came inside the top 4 in the 14/u while Joclyn Russ came 6th.

While Liam Ragus-judd took on a very important leadership role over the course of the event. Being a positive role model for the younger athletes, giving advice, showing healthy dietary choices. Which in turn has landed him a job here at the Tennis Centre working with our young up and coming athletes.

While off the court the teams were very privileged enough to meet Evonne Goolagong-Cawley. While during the days they were taken the Darwin wave pool, taken to the Michael Long Centre for cultural learning such as, Didgeridoo playing, song making, basket weaving and painting.
To top off the whole weekend we were lucky enough to have Djuki Mala perform!
