St Monica’s Tennis Club is part of the Northern Suburban Junior Tennis Association (NSJTA).  NSJTA Competition is a strong competition available to all junior players up to 17 years of age in the inner Northern suburbs. There are grades ranging from A Special to D Grade.

 

Our Junior Open day is an opportunity for you to come past, borrow a racquet and have a try at tennis.   Our Senior Coach and his team will be present to answer any questions about pathways to competition and the coaching opportunities available at the club.

 

The competition is made up of clubs in the surrounding area – such as Essendon, Strathmore and Buckley Park – with some further travel to clubs such as Taylors Lakes and Sydenham.  There is no travel to the opposite side of the city! 

 

There are two seasons per year - the first season runs over school terms 1 & 2 and the second season runs over school terms 3 & 4. There is no play during school holidays and there is no play on weekends where there is a Public Holiday (eg, Labour Day) to allow families full flexibility in juggling sporting and family commitments.

Club Championships

 

Our Singles events (Men's and Women's) and Doubles events (Men's, Women's and Mixed) will be held on the 13th April 2025.

 

Last year was heralded as a fun and engaging day, lots of matches played on a Sunday on a perfect sunny day. It was great to witness the talent and passion displayed by all participants who are committed members of the club and we are sure this year will be no different as places will fill fast given the feedback from last years event

Trivia Night

 

Join us for an evening of brain-teasing fun, camaraderie, and a chance to catch up with fellow club members. Our Trivia Night promises more than just fundraising—it’s an opportunity to test your knowledge, laugh, and create lasting memories.

 

Save the Date: Trivia Night at the Symons Centre!

When:  Saturday 31st May 2025, starting at 7:00 PM

Where: Symons Centre - St Monica's Parish Centre (Address: 824 Mt Alexander Rd)

Cost :  $20 per player - Payment prior to the event.  Details to be supplied by return email on confirmation of booking.

BYO :  Food and Drink

 

Bookings  ;  Table captains to send an email to stmonicastennisclub@gmail.com  to     book your table of 8 as a Table Captain.  If you are booking more than one table please indicate the table captain for the second table.  All player names to be submitted at the time of entry.

 

Important Note for Parents: While we’ve welcomed children of all ages in the past, we’ve learned that keeping them entertained for a full 4 hours can be quite the challenge while the trivia is on! So this time, we kindly request that rather than the club setting an age limit, that any child attending should be seated at your table and actively able to participate in the trivia.
