Grants and facility upgrades

Lighting upgrade

In February the Blue Mountains Council was awarded a grant of $424k on behalf of Springwood Tennis Club under the NSW Government's Female Friendly Community Sport Facilities and Lighting Upgrades Grant Program.

The funds will be used to upgrade our old, inefficient court lighting to new LED lights. If there are sufficient funds remaining we will look at upgrading one or, at most, two of our courts to hard courts.

The committee are currently working on the Scope of Works after which the project will go out to tender.

Accessible toilet

The accessible toilet, which was funded under a separate grant, is nearly complete and should be ready for use in the next week or two.

Drainage on Court 6

A new pipe has been installed from the drainage pit on Court 6 which should alleviate the issues we've been having due to poor drainage on this court.

School holidays tennis clinic

The holiday tennis clinic will be running in the week 17-21 April. Contact Andrew McLeod (0416 083 472) or the pro shop to book. See here for more information.

Anyone for cardio-tennis?

Cardio-tennis is a great way to get fit, have fun, socialise and hit some tennis balls. Contact Andrew McLeod (0416 083 472) if you are interested. See here for more information.

Competitions

The Wednesday Night Ladies comp has recommenced. See here for more information about available comps.

Upcoming tournaments

Some of the courts may be used over Easter for a tournament organised by the Nepean Tennis Club. We will confirm this closer to the time.

Hone your tennis skills with our new ball machine!

The club recently purchased a new ball machine. A big thanks to the Springwood Sports Club for their generous contribution towards the cost of this item.

The new machine has a remote control and a large variety of settings including variations in ball speed, spin, angle and height. It's a great way to groove your shots. The ball machine costs $15/hour for members, or $30/hour for non-members, plus court hire.

Reduce waste - recycle old tennis balls

If you have old tennis balls that you no longer need, you can leave them in the Game-On Recycling box in the clubhouse.

Thanks to our sponsors

Finally, please support our sponsors. Their generous financial contributions help to keep our club thriving.

Happy hitting!
