I’m sure you are pleased that the Southlands Tennis Club is back operating nearly “as normal”.  You still must check in on the Check In CBR App upon arrival and practice good hand hygiene before and after playing. Masks are no longer required.

In the September 2021 update I advised that the practice wall would be painted post lockdown thanks to a Tennis Australia grant.  This is to commence very soon - as soon as tomorrow (14 November 2021) in the unlikely event of weather permitting. It is expected the wall will be out of action for about 4 days.

As foreshadowed in the September update, the Club committee has reviewed the casual court hire fee (currently $20 per hour) and the light fee (currently $6 per hour).  The casual court hire fee will remain unchanged.  Given the upgrading of the court lighting, the Club committee has increased the light fee to $10 per hour to cater for increasing electricity charges and the ongoing maintenance.  The increased fee will take effect from 1 December 2021.

Members are reminded that the expiry date of fixed term memberships has been extended from 31 October 2021 to 31 December 2021 to compensate for the closure of our courts due to the COVID-19 lockdown and related restrictions.  Renewal notices will be issued in December.

It has been another tough year. Let’s hope 2022 is a brighter one with lots of enjoyable tennis to be played. The Committee wishes you and your families all the very best for the festive season 🎄.
