Applications are open for the 2024 Ian Henderson Encouragement Scholarship, at South Camberwell Tennis Club (SCTC).

The scholarship allows for one young junior player (preferably aged 6-14) to receive;

• One year free family membership to South Camberwell Tennis Club
• Lessons with a SCTC Club coach at the Club courts
• Equipment and other items e.g. shoes and clothing, as appropriate
• Total value up to $796.00

The scholarship was created by the family of Ian Henderson, a life member of the club, in 2021 with the purpose of supporting one young junior player each year to further their interest in tennis. 

The applicant should have had an introduction to tennis (for example is able to serve and return the ball) - and will have shown keen interest to further their skills in a supportive, non-competitive environment.  This is not a high performance coaching program, rather it provides an opportunity for a keen young tennis player that they would not otherwise have the opportunity to develop their game, and this will be the primary consideration in selecting a suitable recipient.
