Shepparton Lawn Junior Tennis Registrations 2021-22

Hello everyone,

We trust you’re all coping ok with iso, lockdown life, and home schooling.
Despite the glumness of the past week for the Shepparton Community, at some point we’ll begin to move forward and so we hope this correspondence about Junior Tennis Registrations provides the kids something to look forward to.

Like last year when there was some uncertainty around the season commencement, we’re writing again to you all to bring you up to date on Junior Tennis matters for this coming Summer.

At this time, the Shepparton Junior Tennis Association (SJTA) is planning to run the competition on similar timeframes to other years but of course this is dependant of the Covid situation. The SJTA is wanting to be prepared to commence as soon as practicable in Term 4 and so are seeking numbers from Clubs as they would do at this time any other year.

Because of the uncertainty, we have again decided that instead of seeking payment with your registration we will confirm everyone’s registration with payment once we know precise details of the season. With that in mind we have formulated the below process.

Key Information:
• August the 26th - Online Registrations formally open.
• The link to the registration form is https://form.jotform.com/Shepplawn/junior_reg_2021_2022 and is available now if you want to register early. The link will also be available via Team App, the Club’s website and Facebook page.
• Notice will also be provided via School Newsletters
• September 9th – Registrations Close
• The SJTA is planning to meet soon.
• Following the SJTA meeting, we will contact all registrants with an update.
• Once the information about the season becomes clear we will then seek confirmation of registrations via payment along with any club apparel orders and go through our usual process of preparing for the season.

For the younger ones and new families who you may be speaking with, a reminder there are introductory competition grades for the young ones using a low compression Green Dot ball. The upper age limit of this competition is generally 12 and commencement age is skill dependant.

For those not quite ready for Green Dot competition the Club’s coach Luke Dixon of Keystone Tennis is planning to operate a modified Hot Shots League again this year which has a primary school focus. This is a terrific development program overseen by qualified tennis coaches that prepares the young ones for more serious competition in the years ahead. If you have children interested in this program, please contact http://www.keystonetennis.com/ for more information.

Normally the club holds an information for anyone with questions, this is obviously not possible at the moment but as always if you have any questions you can contact Damion or I on the numbers below or email us at [email protected]

We look forward to seeing all the juniors enjoy themselves again this year while developing their tennis. Let’s hope they get to enjoy a full season.
