Northumberland Tennis Regional Champion of Champions event was held on Sunday 13th November 2022 at Broadmeadow, Newcastle.

It was huge day of Tennis with Junior Players competing for the title of Northumberland Regional Champion!

SHTA’s very own, Teddy Eather qualified to compete in the invitational event in the 8/U Mixed Singles. There was a buzz of excitement on the 8/U courts, with 2 groups battling it out for a place in the final.

The morning saw some great matches with some very close results!

Teddy cemented his way to the final by winning all four of his qualifying matches.

The final was a nail biter! Teddy was down 3-1 and fought his way back to 3-3 for a tie break! It was a tough match and with great excitement, Teddy won the final points to claim the victory and title of 8/U Northumberland Regional Champion!

SHTA Head Coach, Chris Herden and his wife Lyn also made the trip to Newcastle to cheer on Teddy and enjoy a wonderful day of high quality Tennis! (photo Coach Chris & Teddy).

Teddy has enjoyed a great introduction to RMS tournaments, also taking out the 8/U Singleton RMS  tournament in September, finishing the year with an outstanding record: Win-Loss 10 / 0 (10). Well done Ted! 

Regional Matchplay Series (RMS) events are round robin singles events, primarily aimed at junior players and local open levelled players. SHTA would love to see more Scone Juniors getting involved in these events in 2023. We will keep you posted when the 2023 Calendar is released.
