Adult Lessons

Play Well Tennis’ mission is to inspire people to play, compete and be involved in tennis. Participating in sport has many benefits, including improving/maintaining physical health, developing social connections, providing a sense of achievement, contributing to a sense of identity and community, and helping manage stress.

At Play Well Tennis, we aim to foster these benefits through our adult coaching programs, which comprise:

BEGINNER GROUP LESSONS

This class is designed for those that are in the early stages of learning the sport. It focusses on teaching the fundamentals of the game, from the rules, names of the lines, how to score, through to how to hold the racquet, the different types of shots and how to perform them with consistency and accuracy. 

  • Maximum class size of 8 students.
  • No experience required.

EARLY INTERMEDIATE GROUP LESSONS

Our Early Intermediate Group Lessons caters for those who have been playing for a little while but are still developing the ability to play with consistency and rally. It focusses on teaching the technical fundamentals of the forehand, backhand, volley and serve, and starts to build a tactical awareness.

  • Maximum class size of 8 students.
  • Approximately 6 months of experience required.

Wet weather policy

If a lesson is cancelled due to rain, your account will be credited. We can refund the lesson if you prefer. A lesson is considered cancelled if less than half the lesson is completed. If possible, Play Well Tennis will send a text message to your nominated mobile number advising you a lesson is cancelled ahead of time.

What to bring to a lesson

  • Racquet – If you don’t have one, no worries, we can provide one
  • Runners and comfortable sports clothes
  • Hat and sunscreen
  • Water bottle
