New Gisborne Tennis Club is the recipient of a Sports and Recreation Victoria (Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund) grant for $170k to put lighting on courts 1 & 2. This application was submitted in conjunction with Macedon Ranges Council who will manage the project and provide a co-contribution. See attached press release.
This is a vital step to maintain the viability of the club due to the poor condition of the existing lit courts 3 & 4 which are often unplayable through winter. As the design work is all done, we're expecting to see the work commence to erect the lights once the weather improves.
Thanks to all who supported this process through providing submissions to council.
UPDATE: The club welcomed Mary-Anne Thomas MP on 23rd August to meet club committee and members. Mary-Anne was keen to find out about our lighting project. This provided a great opportunity to explain our club development masterplan to Mary-Anne in person.
