Serving Up 2026: New Year, New Courts,
New Opportunities
Happy New Year to all our tennis members and the wider tennis community! We hope 2026 brings you joy, fun, and plenty of time on the courts.
We Need You! Our club thrives because of passionate volunteers, and we're looking for members and non-members alike to help us grow and continue serving our youth and community. With our AGM approaching in July, we have key leadership positions to fill including President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer, as well as general committee roles and various volunteer opportunities throughout the club. Not sure what's involved? Come have a chat with us directly – we'd love to talk about how you can contribute and be part of our club's success.
Club Updates – Exciting news! Our hard courts have been resurfaced and are looking fantastic. Thank you to everyone who made this happen. A special thanks to Lester for his ongoing dedication in maintaining our beautiful grass courts and leading discussions on club-wide maintenance improvements.
Summer Pennants – Our summer pennant season re-commences in February, and we wish all our adult and junior members the very best of luck as they continue their competitive journeys this season!
- Social Calendar – Julia and our social committee have been hard at work putting together an amazing lineup of events! Mark these dates in your calendar:
- Wednesday 21 January – Social lunch at The Henley Brook, 9810 West Swan Road, from 11:45am
- Saturday 7 February – Outdoor Cinema Night at Kookaburra Outdoor Cinema, Mundaring Weir, screening 'Song Sung Blue' starring Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson (great reviews!). Gates open 6:30pm, film starts 7:40pm. We have a reserved area. Tickets $15.
- Wednesday 4 March – Dinner at the Mahogany Inn, Great Eastern Highway, Mahogany Creek, 6:00pm. Following last year's successful evening, this is one not to miss!
Ladder-Up Social Competition kicks off Thursday 5 February at 7pm on our hard courts, running every Thursday until 26 March. Doubles format, limited to 16 players. Members play free (plus $2 ball fee), non-members $10 per session. Some experience required.
There's so much more happening at the club – continue reading the full newsletter here to discover all the ways you can participate and get involved!
Warm regards,
MLTC Committee
