Season Wrap, Big Wins & Everything You Need to Know for Winter
What a summer it has been! As the season winds down and autumn settles in, we want to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to every member, parent, and volunteer who has made this summer season such a success. Our league teams have truly shone, both adult teams made the finals, and our 10 junior teams put in performances that made the whole club incredibly proud. We hope to see you all back on court this winter or next summer!
Off the court, our social club has been absolutely buzzing - from lunches and movies to raffles and so much more. A special mention must go to Lester and Julia, who have gone above and beyond in securing sponsorship and fundraising for the club, we cannot thank you enough. You may have also spotted our brand new bright yellow shade sail over the playground, months in the making and now keeping our little ones safe and cool - a wonderful addition to the club. Our Thursday night Ladder-Up Social Comp was well received, but not full-house. We will reintroduce this towards the end of the year and hope to see better participation. If you have any feedback on how this can be improved on please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Looking ahead, there's plenty on the calendar. Club Championship Singles and Doubles finals are coming up on 11 and 12 April. Enter now or come along and cheer on your fellow members as they compete for a place on the club boards. We will be celebrating all the Wins of the Season at our Club Presentation night 18 April, save the date! Tennis West Winter Pennant fixtures will be released on 23 April, and social tennis on Saturdays will be moving to afternoons from 18 April 2026. You'll also notice half our grass courts entering their annual restoration period over winter. Read on for more details on how we're keeping courts available throughout.
Finally - and we make no apology for saying it again - the club needs you! We are seeking nominations for President, Secretary, Treasurer, and other committee roles ahead of our AGM in July. Our club is only as strong as the people who drive it forward, so please come and have a chat with us about what's involved. Let's bring some fresh energy into the 2026/2027 season!
There's plenty to read about in this edition — so grab a cuppa and read on!
Warm regards,
MLTC Committee
