This was the first taste of competive tennis for all members in the Maccabi Section 11 team 2 squad.

It was fantastic to get to know each member of the squad individually and to see the belief in themselves grow each week. I was continually impressed by how this group of young men improved, practiced and conducted themselves on and off the court.

Throughout the season, Maccabi Section 11.2 faced formidable opponents, but their perseverance paid off in finishing top of the table.

In the decisive Grandfinal match, Maccabi Section 11.2 showcased their skills with a decisive victory.

Congratulations to Mitch Goldenberg, Asher Brami, Harry Zimmet, Adam Inbar, Shahar Ben Meir, Tom Appel, and all the team parents on a fantastic season and well deserved victory.

The Team...

  • Mitch Goldenberg: As captain, Mitch led by example demonstrating precision in his shots and unwavering composure in critical moments.
  • Asher Brami: Known for his lightning-fast serves, Asher formed a formidable partnership with Tom Appel that proved crucial in many key matches.
  • Harry Zimmet: 'Mr Reliable' Harry's consistency was key to winning many tough matches.
  • Adam Inbar: A new comer to tennis. Adams contribution week in and out made a significant impact on the season.
  • Shahar Ben Meir: Shahars dedication to training was second to none. Most improved for the season.
  • Tom Appel: 'The Tactician'. Tom was always quick to identify an opponents weakness. He demonstrated this to perfection in his grand final singles match.

What an incredible season!

Maccabi section 8 boys played the season with determination, teamwork and enthusiasm. Having lost only 3 matches for the season, the boys finished on top of the ladder. Despite a close loss in the grand final match, the team consisting of Matthew Cashmore, Elijah Naphtali, Gabriel Stermer and Golahn Lerer showcased their tennis skills, sportsmanship and resilience on the court. The team should be proud of their accomplishments, their talent and hard work. Congratulations to Matthew Cashmore on being awarded Best Performed Player in section 8 for the season. Congratulations to the team for a fantastic season!

Saturday’s Section 9 boys’ convincing win in the grand final versus St Joan of Arc was a thoroughly satisfying victory for the boys and proved without a doubt that they were deserving winners.  Having faced a few injuries during the season, the team managed to topple the 1st ranked team with ease to claim the title of Premiers.  Great team work, camaraderie, hours of extra hits outside of lessons and squad sessions, and of course unwavering support amongst the boys contributed hugely to their outstanding success.  Well done and Congratulations to you all!
