A fantastic start to tennis comp for these young tennis players who made it to the finals against Mentone in their very first season. A group of five great kids who have shown commitment, respect and kindness to each other and to their opponents each week.
Each of them gave it their all throughout and in the finals on a very cold and very windy morning.
The team consisting of Danielle, Aiden, Bebe, Ari and Remy were the runners up of the season and have certainly done Maccabi proud.- Cara Kushlin, Team Manager

Maccabi played against Dendy Park in the grand final. Under extremely windy conditions, Maccabi’s first doubles pairing of Alan/Matthew got off to a flying start winning 6-2. Our second doubles pair of Alon/Yagel came back from 3-0 down to play a nail-biting tie breaker but lost 7/6. Our singles game saw Alan lose 6-1. Golahn fought hard but lost 6-3. Matthew played exceptionally well to win 6/3 ensuring the result came down to the last match. In a high standard and close contest, Alon lost 6-3. Overall, the boys played brilliantly, had fun, cheered each other on and showed wonderful sportsmanship in congratulating the winning team. A fantastic effort boys!

Overcoming injuries and illness, our Boys Section 2 team closed the season nicely by bringing home the bronze Medal. Aaron Kramer, Ilan Elboher, Ian Altman and Yonatan Sirkis played in the final. Jaxson Brick, our 5th player, unfortunately could not be present but also played a key role throughout the season. Ian was elated when the organisers surprised him by awarding the "Player of the Season" trophy. Winning all his singles games certainly played a part. It was great to see how the boys kept on improving both technically and mentally while still having fun.

Our section 4 boys junior team finished 3rd on the ladder after a great season. Unfortunately in our consolation final against the team that finished fourth, we lost four rubbers to two with our number 1 player Adam playing with an injured right wrist. There was excellent camaraderie between the boys throughout the season. Our number two player Jeremy Samuel won player of the section, awarded by the association, as he was undefeated in singles for the season.
