Section 4 Hurlingham Park 3-4-48 def Maccabi 3-4-41
Jordan Jaffe 8-6

Jan Tenenberg 8-5
Jordan Jaffe/Saul Muscatel 5-7 2-6

Heading to Kings Park for the Semi Final - we knew we were in for a tough one against Hurlingham Park.
In the singles, Jordan started slowly - playing too defensive and allowing his opponent to take control. However, after being down a break at 5-4, Jordan started to become more relaxed and started to play more on the front foot. Leading him to take control and sneak in a 8-6 victory.
Marty played an opponent everyone has struggled to play for many years. Even though, Marty was playing some very solid tennis, the talent and consistency of his opponent was simply too good.
Jonny also struggled against a very tall and smart player. Battling to find his rhythm, Jonny’s opponent took advantage to win 8-3.
Whilst, Jan does what he always does. Playing against a very strong no.4, Jan played at an excellent standard and continued to attack throughout the entire match. Leading him to a 8-5 victory.
Heading into the doubles 2-2. It was all up for grabs.
Saul and Jordan played a very experienced and solid no.1 doubles pair. In the first set, Saul and Jordan were playing some really good tennis, but we’re just unable to capitalise on the crucial points - going down 7-5. Unfortunately the momentum for Hurlingham carried into the second set, with Saul and Jordan going down 6-2.
Whilst Jan and Steven - who have played many times together throughout the season, were simply phenomenal again. Playing some really good and consistent doubles, Jan and Steven won an intense second set, leading to a straight sets victory.
Sadly, we ended up going down in games to a very good Hurlingham team - bringing our season to a end.
Although, I would really like to thank my team for making my first season as captain such an enjoyable season.

Section 5 Ardrie Park 5-7-53 def Maccabi 1-1-29
Steven Bendel 0-8
Marcus Frajman 7-8
Ryan Behr 8-5
Anthony Murray 5-8
Adam Needleman/Marcus Frajman 2-6 4-6
Ryan Behr/Daniel Henquin 3-6 0-6
Playing what we believe to be the best team in the section was going to be
tough but we gave ourselves a decent chance. It was not to be. Their number
one was clearly the best player in the competition but the number 2 took us
by surprise. He had not played against us before and only played three games
for the season. He was a very good player indeed. Nevertheless we accounted
ourselves well and we were definitely unlucky not to share the singles at
2-2. Ryan Behr won a close contest but Marcus Frajman was desperately
unlucky to lose in a tiebreak in a very high standard match . Anthony Murray
was 3-0 up before the heat struck and his player started to make more shots.
Being 3-3 down and introducing two new players meant we had to go for two
wins. Consequently we split our best pair up who were going to play at
number two. Unfortunately the risk is you lose both doubles when you split
your best pair up. All in all a great season enjoyed by a team who all
bonded well.- Adam Needleman
