The only remaining Maccabi team in the Bayside Regional Tennis Association (BRTA) finals series, the section 3 women's team, were defeated by a strong Port Melbourne outfit, 5 rubbers to 1. Port Melbourne were deserving winners, having gone through the season undefeated.  However, it was a great achievement for our women's team to make the Grand Final, after last week's semi final victory against Albert Reserve, and is a positive sign for the Club, which is trying to promote and grow women's tennis.  The Club has a number of promising junior players and hopes to field more women's teams in the coming years.
