Loxton Tennis Club - 2024/2025 Hot Shots Program 

Purpose: Hot Shots is an introduction to tennis with a focus on hand-eye coordination that prepares players tactically, technically, and psycho-socially for orange level.  A red ball and modified racquets are used.

Coaches: Hot Shots will be organized and run by Nathan Gibbs, Danica Gibbs and Todd Griffin in 2024/2025. Nathan and Todd have previous experience in coaching Hot Shots and are currently representing our club at the senior level.

Parents/Caregivers: We strongly encourage parents/caregivers to be present and no tennis experience or knowledge required, just a positive, encouraging, and interactive approach.

Attendance: Please make an apology via email or text to the contacts below if the player cannot attend training. Please bring hat, sunscreen and a water bottle. If you have your own racquet that is great, we do have many spare ones that can be borrowed.

Overview and Session Structure: Hot Shots will begin on Thursday October 31 and run for a total of ten weeks, from 4:00-4:45pm. There will be six sessions held in 2024, Thursday December 5 will be the last prior to the break. After the New Year, sessions will recommence on Thursday February 6, 2025. This half of the season will run for four weeks with the final session to be held on Thursday February 27, 2025.

Membership: The Loxton Tennis Club is affiliated with Tennis SA and Tennis Australia and prior to commencing play at Loxton Tennis Club in any program, ALL PLAYERS, must have a membership.

Sports Vouchers: If you haven’t done so already, we encourage you to utilise the $100 Sports Voucher from the Government of South Australia. One voucher for every Reception to Year 9 school aged child per calendar year. Below is the link to download.
