On Sunday February 20th, Legend Park Tennis Club opened its doors to welcome all in the clubs first open day in some time.  The day included free coaching clinics, a barbecue lunch, fastest serve competition and prize, giveaways, great membership and coaching discounts, as well as open courts and equipment to all who wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to give tennis try tennis.  Legend Park Tennis Club has also recently welcomed a new Club President in Barry Litchfield and Secretary in Adrian Hjorth, after Len Roberts and Doug Broadley retired after years of fantastic and loyal service to the club.  The Club Open Day  was also an ideal opportunity also for potential new members to meet the new committee member office bearers.

The club was proud to have Jason Stoltenberg (former coach of Lleyton Hewitt, and Wimbledon singles semi -finalist) and his family present on the day, he welcomed all to the open day and gave an exhibition hit with club coach Steve Blundell, and gave his insights to all levels of tennis in an open question and answer session with the crowd.  Even given the less than desirable weather conditions the club managed to boost memberships and club coaching significantly on the day.

Legend Park Tennis Club takes great pride in having a great family atmosphere, and provides coaching and competition for all ages, levels and standards of players, and is always welcoming to new players.  A highlight at the club is having Jason Stoltenberg with Steve Blundell coaching numerous top juniors and national champions at the club, many of whom featured in the Australian Open Juniors and Main Draw in the 2011 Australian Open. This helps create what is a well rounded club atmosphere and the members certainly enjoy the interaction with some of Australia’s up and coming talent on show at the club.  Legend Park is also proud to have a Presidents Cup team for the first time in Saturday morning Junior competition play this winter season.

Legend Park Tennis Club welcomes all enquiries into competition, coaching and membership at the club.
