COVID-19 - Easing of Restrictions and Tennis

Due to the recent easing of restrictions by the Victorian Government and with the agreement of the City of Greater Dandenong, we are pleased to announce that the Keysborough Tennis Club will open up two of its courts for use by members only.  Public bookings will not be available.

Tennis Victoria has provided guidelines on how tennis can operate within Federal and State restrictions.  As a result, tennis can return in a limited way as follows:

Monitoring

Please be aware that all sporting activities will be monitored by council and other authorities.  Any breaches will be the responsibility of the players involved.  Non-compliance could result in the cancellation of your membership.  

Please DO NOT let anyone else into the club facilities other than your playing group.  DO NOT leave the gate open.  Every booking will have their own unique PIN code.

Number of Players and Social Distancing

To ensure that players abide by the COVID-19 distancing and gathering rules, each court can have NO more than four players.  Please ensure that social distancing is applied between yourselves and players on the second court.  

For the purposes of COVID tracking and the safety of all members, we ask that you please list all player’s names who will be participating when making the booking.  There is no extra charge.

Bookings

Bookings are to be made via the Book-a-Court system.  To ensure that all members have the ability to play on the courts, we have reduced the total number of bookings per member to one per day to a maximum of two hours.  

We also ask that you leave the club (not just the courts) about 5 to 10 minutes prior to the end of your booking so that we do not break the 10 person gathering rule.  Get In - Play - Get Out.

We ask members to be considerate of other members and to book only one or two sessions per week, giving all members the opportunity to play on the courts.  

The time allowed and the number of sessions will be reviewed and may be adjusted depending on the demand placed on the courts.

Coaching

Coaching in a very limited way will return to the club.  Bookings for courts will not be available from 3.00pm to 7.00pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays and from 9.00am to 12noon on Sundays.  Courts will be available all other times including Saturdays.

Access

Access is still via the keypad at the gate.  We ask members to bring along a glove or plastic bag to protect your hands when using the Pin Pad at the gate for entry.  Please avoid touching surfaces when inside the club.  DO NOT leave the gate open.

Toilet Access 

We have been informed by Tennis Victoria to NOT have clubhouse facilities available or to only allow access under special circumstances and following specific hygiene protocols.  Please use the Council toilets outside on the reserve, if necessary.

Competition Tennis

Unfortunately, competition is still not permitted until further restrictions on sport and recreation activities are lifted.  Once we have further information from Tennis Victoria, we will let you know.

Memberships

At this stage, due to the closure of the courts because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Club Committee is looking at a pro-rata cost reduction for the 2020-2021 membership year for current members.  

Risk Warning

You acknowledge that by using the tennis courts and playing tennis you will be exposed to certain risks, including the risk of physical injury. You may also be exposed to the possibility of contracting an illness, including without limitation the COVID-19 virus. The COVID-19 virus can spread very quickly and result in very serious medical complications in some people. You agree that the use of the tennis courts is entirely at your own risk. You have read and understood this risk warning and voluntarily accept and assume the inherent risks in use of the tennis courts and playing tennis.
