Good afternoon

The Victorian Government has announced that the current state-wide lockdown will end from 11:59 pm tonight, Tuesday 27 July.

Community sport and physical recreation will be allowed to resume, subject to restrictions as outlined below.

Indoor and outdoor community sport (defined as competitions and training overseen by a State Sporting Association or equivalent governing body):

  • Density quotient of 1 person per 4 square metres applies.
  • Limited to minimum number of people required to participate in and facilitate the activity, i.e. players and coaches.
  • Spectators are not allowed (some exceptions apply, details of which will be provided tomorrow).
  • Electronic record keeping through the Service Victoria application is mandatory.

Indoor and outdoor physical recreation (including non-competitive golf, tennis, lawn bowls, personal training etc.):

  • Density quotient of 1 person per 4 square metres applies, to a maximum of 100 people per indoor space and 300 people per outdoor space.
  • COVID Check-in Marshals must be present and ensure that all attendees check-in.
  • Group sizes are limited to a maximum of 10 people and patrons must be able to maintain a distance of 1.5 metres from each other at all times.
  • Spectators are not allowed (some exceptions apply, details of which will be provided tomorrow).
  • Electronic record keeping through the Service Victoria application is mandatory.

Operation of clubrooms for change rooms, socialising etc.:

Sharing of equipment in all settings should be minimised, and avoided where possible. If equipment is shared it must be cleaned and disinfected between users.

Face masks must be carried at all times and must be worn both indoors and outdoors, except when exercising strenuously i.e. when participants are left puffing or short of breath.
