February 2026

Our newsletter keeps our members informed and engaged in our GPTC tennis community - we hope that you find it informative. A feature of this periodical newsletter will be contributions from across our club. If you wish, we invite you to write a brief update on what may be happening in your competition / group of players. If there is anything you want to share we would love to hear it!

On behalf of the GPTC Executive Committee, we hope everyone enjoyed the Australian Summer of tennis! Perhaps you were able to get to the United Cup, the Australian Open, or enjoyed watching from the comfort of your own home.

Committee Update

Our GPTC committee is working towards continued development of our club and facilities to ensure tennis is enjoyed by our community.
We have recently completed several key initiatives, including:

  • The resurfacing of our courts was possible through financial support from the NSW State Government and the Wollongong Tennis Courts Administration. We hope you are enjoying the refreshed courts!
  • Recruitment of our new coach Renee and her team are really providing a great energy to our club.
  • The creation of social media platforms – Facebook and Instagram.

We will now be working towards:

  • Improved signage for our club.
  • General club maintenance.
  • Working Bee scheduled for Sat 21 March, 9-12pm. Help is welcome!

Welcome to our coach Renee

After a rigorous and competitive coach selection process, Renee was the successful applicant. We are very excited to have her coaching at Gilmore Park! With more than two decades of experience as both an advanced-level player and coach, Renee brings a wealth of expertise to tennis coaching. Her strong technical background and passion for developing players help each individual reach their full potential. Known for her collaborative, approachable, and dedicated style, she empowers players of all ages and abilities to build confidence and enhance their skills on the court.

Belongings and clean up

Please remember to clean up and check the club house, hirer’s room, and courts for any items that belong to yourself and remember to take them with you when you leave the premises. This includes food, drinks, clothing and equipment as we cannot guarantee that they will still be there next time you visit!

Defibrillator & First Aid

Just a reminder that we have a First Aid Kit and Defibrillator available for emergencies  in the Hirer’s room. Please notify us if either have been used.

We would like to thank First Aid Wollongong for donating the defibrillator to our club. Please show them your support when in need of any First Aid, training or equipment needs.
