Our newsletter keeps our members informed and engaged in our GPTC tennis community - we hope that you find it informative.
A feature of this periodical newsletter will be contributions from across our club. If you wish, we invite you to write a brief update on what may be happening in your competition / group of players. If there is anything you want to share we would love to hear it!
On behalf of the GPTC Executive Committee, we hope everyone enjoyed the Australian Summer of tennis! Perhaps you were able to get to the United Cup, the Australian Open, or enjoyed watching from the comfort of your own home.😊
Committee update
Our GPTC committee are working towards continued development of our club and facilities to ensure tennis is enjoyed by our community.
We have several projects happening, including:
- The recent submission of a Community Building Partnership 2025 grant, requesting financial support from the State Government that will enable us to resurface the courts. If successful, we anticipate that this work may commence soon.
- Improved signage and social media exposure.
Gilmore Park Saturday afternoon mixed
Congratulations to GP1 who won the 2024 Spring Saturday afternoon mixed competition. (missing from pic – Gemma, Geoff & Dave)
This WTA mixed competition is not just great tennis, but also very social - it was great to see all teams coming together for a social dinner earlier this year. If you are interested in entering a team or being available in the Player’s Pool, please contact WTA for further details – we would love to see you on court!
Play Illawarra
Did you know that Gilmore Park is listed as one of Play Illawarra’s accessible and family-friendly playspaces?
Check out the website for some great tips and tricks for where to find safe, fun and friendly parks and playspaces for your family. https://playillawarra.com.au/
Belongings
Please remember to check the club house, hirer’s room and courts for any items that belong to yourself and remember to take them with you when you leave the premises. This includes food, drinks, clothing and equipment as we cannot guarantee that they will still be there next time you visit!
Defibrillator & First Aid
Just a reminder that we now have a First Aid Kit and Defibrillator in the Hirer’s room.
We would like to thank First Aid Wollongong for donating the defibrillator to our club. Please show them your support when in need of any First Aid, training or equipment needs.

Security
To ensure our courts & facilities remain secure, we request that all members and hirers close all doors, gates and secure locks before leaving the premises. If you see anything of concern, please notify the Committee ASAP.
