Social Tennis

Social tennis at Floreat Park is friendly organised doubles and mixed doubles sets, each of about a half hour duration.

We aim to put people into sets of a standard they are comfortable with. We normally don’t worry too much about the score but occasionally have more structured events.

Social tennis caters for a wide range of tennis abilities. Players are expected to know how to be able to play tennis and at least get most serves into play and hit a few shots back. If you are new to tennis it would be best to talk to the coaches first.

Visitors are welcome to just turn up at social tennis, but if you would like more information please contact the Club Membership Coordinator at fptc.members@gmail.com.

Floreat Park Tennis Club offers these organised times for social tennis each week:

Saturday afternoon is the main social day and consists of mens and ladies doubles and mixed doubles.

The afternoon format is as follows:

  • 1:30pm onwards: Arrive for a warm up & meet with court captain (at front desk)
  • 2:00pm: First set commences. Three sets of approx. 30 mins are played, with a short rest between sets.

  • 4:00pm: Two sets of 30 mins are played.
  • 5:00pm: Meet at the bar! (bar opens at 4:30pm)

  • Visitors should introduce themselves at the Captain’s desk and pay the visitors fee of $10.
  • Players can arrive and leave at any time in the afternoon. If you plan to leave early then either let the Captain know at the start of the afternoon or well in advance of your departure time (1 hour).
