A New Club House?!?!

In recent weeks, our Club's Reps have had a preliminary discussion with the coordination team of the East Burwood Reserve Master Plan,  the Architect Planner, and the Custodian Manager of  East Burwood Hall (Heritage listed building) around potential co-location between East Burwood Hall and the new Clubhouse.  Yes! you did not misread it! it will be a brand-new clubhouse (see the above diagram).

According to the plan, the new clubhouse will be relocated to the front of the East Burwood Reserve, close to the heritage-listed East Burwood Hall. The thinking behind this is that the Tennis Club will be the 'face' of East Burwood Reserve, just like the Nunawading Basketball Centre or the Whitehorse Club with prominent signs and with bright and attractive lighting arrays along the Burwood Highway to draw public attention when driving past.

The Club has also asked the architect-planner for considerations to build pavillions outside courts 4, 7, and 8 for spectators, plus a more robust maintenance and coach sheds, and an equipment storage area. A new practice wall will be also included.

We will update you further once the final drawing of the new Clubhouse is approved.
