Cooroy Tennis Club Goes Online

Cooroy Tennis has now joined a number of other tennis clubs across Australia with the introduction of Tennis Australia’s “Book A Court” program.

Book-A-Court allows tennis players access to court hire through an online booking and payment system via the Clubspark website.

The four hardcourts in Cooroy may now be booked for casual play by community members, in addition to club members, through the simple online system. Once a booking is made, a pin code is provided, allowing access to the courts through an electronic gate.

Previously, casual players needed to contact the club secretary, receive a code, unlock a secured cabinet, then use and later return a court key, as well as manually record the booking.

Club president, Ian Garvey, anticipates much greater court usage following the introduction of Book A Court. “ The system is much simpler to navigate, and coincides with a real lift in interest in tennis across the country. Flexibility for guests and club members is the key,”Ian said.

One important aspect of the system is the integration of court lighting with the booking sytem. Shortly, evening bookings will incorporate an automated lighting link, which will enable extended court use for players.

The new system was funded through grants from the State Government and Noosa Shire Council, together with club contribution.
