GLOW tennis

Fifty people attended the first “Glow in the Dark” tennis event held by Clifton Creek Tennis Club on Saturday 2nd July.  The event was funded by “Connect Well” to help bring the local community together in celebration.

The amazing lights were kindly loaned by Morwell Tennis Club and club member, Megan, sourced assorted fluoro accessories.

Tennis coach, Gavin, and his 3 supporting coaches, Tom, Sage and Georgie, made sure all the participants kept moving, during a variety of fun activities, Being active was a great way to deal with the chill of a mid winter evening.

Learning to hit fluorescent balls in the dark was a new challenge. White or flouro outfits were a must if you wanted to be seen on the courts.

Home made soup and pizzas made sure everyone was well fed. Thanks to John Ireland, with help from Jen and Brad, for the pizzas. Thanks to John and Megan for the soups.

Aaron from CatholicCare provided hot chocolates and coffee from his van throughout the evening.

The night concluded with cutting of a cake to celebrate our glowing community

The Clifton Creek Tennis Club would like to thank everyone who contributed to the night being a great success.

Special thanks to Connect Well and East Gippsland Shire Council for their support.
