Congratulations to Hayden Eastwood on the 'Volunteer of the Year' award at the 2023 Victorian Tennis Awards!

Hayden has been a pillar of strength for the Castlemaine Lawn Tennis Club in helping our club on its journey towards being a Thriving Tennis Community.

Hayden has helped lead the club to develop a 5 year strategic plan, delivered the annual LGBTQI+ Pride event, developed the Future Stars program, adopted Igloohome locks to make the club more accessible, consulted with traditional land owners to arrange a smoking ceremony and Acknowledgement of Country sign, developed the Rainbow Sets program for the LGBTQI+ community to compete weekly and adopted the Rally 4 Ever program.

Hayden’s focus is always about maintaining the long term sustainability for all of these programs.

And he does all this while competing, showing off his single handed backhand (the correct way to hit a backhand), and cooking a mean bbq.

Hayden now goes on to the national awards against other state winners at the annual Newcombe Awards.

To celebrate a few members got together for a Friday evening bbq and hit of tennis. An incredible achievement, congratulations Hayden, we are so proud of you!
