Burnt Bridge Tennis Club (BBTC) was so proud of Committee member, Lucy Daborn who was recognised with a Maroondah City Council Youth Award (2023). The Maroondah Youth Awards ceremony is a special annual event held at the Karralyka Centre showcasing personal stories, inspiring speeches, amazing performances, and honours young people aged 10 to 25.

Lucy was nominated for the award by the Executive of BBTC in recognition of her leadership in organising teams for Senior weekend competition and setting up and maintaining the club's website and social media accounts (over several years before and since Lucy was elected to the BBTC Committee of Management in 2021).

Lucy currently serves as Night Convenor managing 10+ tennis teams playing four nights a week and acting as captain of one of the teams.

At Club Open Days Lucy has organised a Fast4 competition for players of all ages and worked at fundraising
events to include members young and old in the activities.

In July 2023, Lucy showed experience and initiative in the efficient running of the BBTC- Bunnings Fundraiser Sausage Sizzle. Lucy is also assisting our Club Coach in matchplay sessions with Juniors encouraging them to participate in Junior competitions.

We commend Lucy for her leadership at our club and proudly congratulate Lucy on her 2023 Youth Award.
