Stopping water from building up at the front entrance

Thank you for your patience as your club committee works on stopping water from building up at the front club entrance. The problem is particularly problematic after heavy downpours, which let's face it, are becoming more commonplace.

In particular we would like to extend our sincere apologies to RSTA Coach David and partner Sam and the families who were affected on Tuesday when the school holiday program was disrupted by flooding which extended to the clubhouse. Three quarters of the carpet tiles in the clubhouse have suffered water damage and the clubhouse is smelling decidely musty.

Now for the good news...Andy and Keith have made a start on a two phased approach to fix the problem. On Saturday, 1 October 2022 a trench was prepared for box drainage to be installed the following Saturday - weather permitting. VP Rob and Mick from QPRC will team up with Andy and Keith to cut concrete and install the box drainage - with all materials being supplied by QPRC.

Phase 2 will see more concreate laid at the clubhouse end and grassy side of the footpath to redirect water during extreme downpours away from the club entrance - with this phase being undertaken by QPRC.

Big shout out to QPRC - without your help we wouldn't be on the way to fixing this problem!

Fingers crossed it all works. The silver lining in all of this is that the Council is firmly of the view that the clubhouse is set too low for its surrounds  and in light of this, a replacement clubhouse is an even higher priority than before.
