SENIOR TENNIS

Our 3 senior sides have started strongly. As we approach the halfway mark of the season

Section 1 Open have a 3and 4 record after 7 rounds and six 6th but have had some very close matches and will challenge strongly for the 4.

Section 1 Men are sitting in first place with a 6-1 win loss ratio and look the team to beat going into the second half of the season.

Section 6 Open are also on top with a 5-2 start, with several other teams challenging. This young team are acquitting themselves very well.

JUNIOR TENNIS

We have 17 junior teams this summer ranging from Section 1 to the absolute beginners and everything in between. 8 of our teams are in the four. All our juniors are developing their individual and matchplay skills.

We have 6 Green ball section teams, which are the beginner grades, so it is showing we will have some real depth in the seasons to come.

The new synthetic grass surface courts on courts 5 & 6 are now in action and are being enjoyed by all sections of the club. We now await the new lights for courts 5 and 6 and the clubhouse upgrade which are also part of the state government funded project.

These courts will give players of all standards another surface to practice and play on as well as the softer surface being more friendly to players’ joints.
