Wycheproof labour day tournament

Congratulations to our 12 Aspendale players who made the long but productive trek to Wycheproof for the annual labour day tournament.

Adam Palmer won the B grade singles with Bob Milne finishing runners up. Adam has made sure that Bob doesn’t forget it but Bob probably will.

Riley Snell and mum Leanne won the B grade mixed, whilst Brodie Faulds and mum Jackie won the C Grade mixed.

Bob Milne and yours truly finished runners up in B grade doubles. If only the opposition hadn’t bombed down three big serves at the end. If !!!!!.

Brodie Faulds finished runners up in Junior singles after winning last year and Riley Snell did not look out of place in Open.

Honorary mentions to Vin Snell and Matene Herbert for excellent efforts in the singles (Yes you heard it Vin!) and Leo and Miles who did so well in the U15 despite playing boys 4 and 5 years older.

Aspendale wasn’t just distinguished on the court but did some of their best work off the court with Adam performing on the Sunday night along with cameos from Andy and Kate Davis and the Snell’s.

Dance moves ranged from smooth step to cringe and singing was more at cringe end. But perform they did.

We will be back next year!
