As part of our ongoing improvements, Ashburton Tennis Club is thrilled to announce the upgrade of the old halogen lighting on Courts 2 and 3 to modern LED lighting. This recent update complements the LED lighting upgrade on Court 1 completed in 2022, creating a fully illuminated playing experience across our key courts.

Why LED Lighting?

• Energy Efficiency: LED lights consume much less power compared to halogen lights. This translates to lower electricity bills and a reduced environmental footprint, aligning with our club’s goal to be more sustainable.

• Improved Brightness and Coverage: LED lighting provides superior brightness and more uniform coverage across the courts. This means clearer vision for players and better overall playing conditions, especially during late evening sessions.

• Longer Lifespan: LED lights last significantly longer than traditional halogen bulbs, reducing the frequency of replacements and maintenance costs. This durability makes LED lighting a smart, cost-effective choice in the long run.

• Instant On and Off: Unlike halogen lights, which require time to warm up, LED lights provide instant illumination. This ensures that players can get on court without delay, and the lights can be easily managed during matches or training sessions.

This lighting upgrade, alongside the recent works on Courts 2 and 3 and the 2022 LED installation on Court 1, marks another step forward in improving the club’s facilities. We look forward to seeing our members enjoy these brighter, more efficient courts for years to come!
