Seniors tennis in Australia is booming. Seniors tennis events, competitions and tournaments are played across Australia and up to 1000 players from across the country and overseas compete each year in the Teams Carnival at the Australian Seniors Tennis Championships. In the Australian Seniors individual Championships and other ITF Masters tournaments, players compete for the honour to represent Australia at the ITF Masters Team World Championships. Why is Seniors Tennis so successful?
Tennis is a sport that we can play for a lifetime and - as we get older - "it's always nice to play someone your own age". Seniors tennis competitions are organised in five-year age groups starting at 30 years.
