NRC Kids Tennis Workshop Ignites Passion for Tennis Among Southwestern Sydney Youth.

Ingleburn Tennis Club , 29th OCT 2023 Sunday

In a bid to foster a love for tennis among the youth of Southwestern Sydney, the Southwest Tennis Club, under the guidance of Smash Tennis, hosted an exhilarating NRC Kids Tennis Workshop. Spearheaded by professional coach Rickey Neilsen and his team supported by our club’s coach Santosh Bhattarai, the event aimed to introduce young talents to the world of tennis while promoting junior tennis in the region.

Thirty eager kids, brimming with enthusiasm, registered for the workshop, held at the Ingleburn Tennis Club. Over the course of two hours, participants were immersed in a series of engaging activities and games designed to introduce them to the fundamentals of tennis.

"The kids looked awesome inside the tennis court, their energy and excitement were palpable," remarked one of the organizers.

The workshop utilized the Hot Shots Tennis program, which employs modified equipment tailored to children's needs, facilitating an easier and more inclusive entry into the sport.

The aim is not just to teach tennis but to instill a passion for the sport that will stay with these kids for life," commented Club’s Tennis Co-ordinator Santosh Bhattarai.

Games and activities were meticulously crafted to make learning enjoyable, ensuring that every child walked away with new skills and cherished memories. To further incentivize participation, attractive goodies and gifts were distributed, including NRC Certificates of Participation, Game-Save Tennis Balls, AO Pencil Cases, and exclusive special offers from Smash Tennis.

"We're thrilled to have had such a successful event and are committed to supporting more community initiatives like this in the future," expressed Rajendra Kadel, President of Southwest Tennis Club.
