Although some time has passed since the conclusion of the 2024/25 Junior Tennis Competition, it's important to reflect on and celebrate the progress, commitment, and enthusiasm shown by all participants. Across every division, young players embraced the opportunity to develop their skills, build confidence, and enjoy friendly, supportive match play.
Division Highlights
In the Red Division, Deklan Bavington claimed the Most Games Won award, closely followed by Lily Fuller. The Spirit Award was proudly presented to Jamie King, whose enthusiasm, teamwork, and positive attitude stood out throughout the season.
Orange Division 1 saw Jaxson Brown finish on top for Most Games Won, with Kenil Lad-Halvadia following closely behind.
In Orange Division 2, Mutsa Botomani led the way, while Lincoln Insch earned Runner-Up honours.
In the Green Division, Tallis Langdon was awarded Most Games Won, reflecting his determination and willingness to meet each challenge. Max Godfrey followed closely as Runner-Up, while Carlos Topping-Riquelme received the Spirit Award for his consistent encouragement and sportsmanship.
The Yellow Division rounded out the competition with steady improvement across the board. Jackson Tuip recorded the most games won, with Robert McLean as Runner-Up. Lachlan King earned the Spirit Award for his fairness, persistence, and positive presence both on and off the court.
Community at the Core
The season was made even more special thanks to the involvement of club members and families. Long-time supporters of the club — Terry Riordan, Jill Mayo, Lyn and Gary Kolic, and Ray Perry — were present at the end-of-season presentations to congratulate players and celebrate the success of the program.
A special thank you goes to all the parents who kept the competition running behind the scenes — from keeping time and scoring, to helping with set-up and pack-up each week. Their commitment to supporting their children’s participation had a direct impact on the smooth running of the competition and the positive atmosphere at every match.
Looking Ahead
With a strong focus on development, enjoyment, and fair play, the 2024/25 season was a great success for junior tennis in Port Augusta. We look forward to welcoming new and returning players back on court next season for another exciting year of learning, growth, and tennis fun.
