Latest Update regarding Court Closure due to COVID-19

With the latest updates from the WA State Government’s Preventative Restriction of Activities Directions.  The Kwinana Tennis Club have given special conditional approval for Smash Tennis Academy to operate one-on-one coaching at the club. Practice sessions with the 2 players per court are also allowed if Coaches or Committee members are present.
Unfortunately no other tennis is permitted for the moment (including the book a court and social tennis), so as to ensure Derek has full control over hygiene and access.
We are as keen as anyone to get our Club and courts operating again and will continue to reassess Club and court access as the situation unfolds.
For those of you that have the financial capacity to do so, please consider supporting Derek and his business and consider booking in for some lessons.

There are some restrictions:

  • two-person limit – coach and player only
  • maximum class length of one hour
  • no players over the age of 60, (or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people over the age of 50)
  • strict adherence to social distancing (1.5m) requirements
  • provision of antibacterial wipes for all equipment used and infrastructure touched (ie gates / door handles / taps) – by coach
  • supply of hand cleaning means, including hand sanitiser – by coach
  • drink fountains to remain closed and water supplied via tap to player’s personal drink bottle
  • toilet facilities are not to be made accessible to the public
