Playing tennis at night at the Jerrabomberra Tennis Club is going to be so much easier as lighting at the courts is going to be upgraded.
This came after the club received $125,000 from the NSW Government's Infrastructure Grants program.
Member for Monaro John Barilaro said he felt the money was used well.
"The lighting at the Jerrabomberra Tennis Club was in desperate need of an upgrade and I am happy to announce that the club can now move ahead with its plans, which I know will help attract more players," Mr Barilaro said.
"The grant will see a major upgrade to the court lighting, which will help improve night competitions, social games, coaching and future events."
Jerrabomberra Tennis Club president Peter Terwee was delighted with the support and said the club the funds would be extremely helpful.
"A big thank you to Mr Barilaro and the NSW Government for helping us deliver this new infrastructure for the Jerrabomberra and surrounding community," Mr Terwee said.
"The new LED lights will not only help make it easier for our players during the night competitions, but will also half the club's electricity bill."
This adds to what has been a terrific couple of months for tennis in the area as Jerrabomberra Public School recently won the Todd Woodbridge Cup regional finals.
