Amazon Women’s Tennis Shines at Mardi Gras Fair Day!

Amazon Women's Tennis had a blast at Fair Day this year and welcomed over 45 new members!

Happy Mardi Gras, Amazons!

Volunteers from Amazon Women's Tennis had a wonderful day at this year’s Mardi Gras Fair day, showcasing our commitment to women's tennis in Sydney. Supported by Tennis NSW and Tennis Sydney, our stall drew significant attention, and we are thrilled to report that we signed up over 45 new members. This highlights the growing interest in our community, and in tennis itself.

This year, we promoted our Open Day, upcoming on the 9th of March, and generously grant-funded by the City of Canada Bay. Amazon Women's Tennis Open Day is intended to celebrate our existing members and to give new members an opportunity to know our community and our club. We encourage all interested women to join us and discover what we have to offer.

In addition to recruitment and outreach, the Amazon team had great success in the Tug-of-War competition, making it through two successful rounds to the finals, where we were finally bested by the Sydney Women’s Baseball League.  Although a little battered and bruised, it was great to have fun and work together off the tennis court!

Overall, our presence at Fair Day was productive and highlighted our ongoing efforts to increase participation in women’s tennis. We appreciate the support from Tennis NSW, Tennis Sydney, and the City of Canada Bay, which helps us continue our mission of promoting inclusivity in sports. We look forward to welcoming our new members and hope to see even more women join us during our Open Day and into the future.
